our yup'ik culture
We are a Yup'ik Eskimo community. Our Yup'ik culture has a great impact on our education. We value our culture and often tie it into classroom activities to make learning relevant for our students. We go out on at least a couple trips annually to incorporate our culture and environment into the classroom. These trips that we take (which may be in the fall time on the river by boat or in the winter by snowmobile) are highlights of the year for many of our students, teachers, staff, parents, and community members.
