cranberry picking
The fourth and fifth graders traveled up the north fork of the Andreafski River to Akitneq, across Horseshoe. Before the trip, fifth graders learned about the health benefit of this amazing berry, including how they're full of anti-oxidants and anti-inflammatory benefits. After picking berries, they ate lunch, wrote about their favorite part of the trip (which they then turned into a story), then picked ayuq tea (labrador tea). They saw seven moose, a fox, and a bald eagle.
